Google API Use

How Oceanside PR Genie uses Google APIs.

This page explains the intended Google API use case for Oceanside PR and PR Genie, including Google OAuth and Google Business Profile access.

Purpose

Oceanside PR Genie uses Google APIs to support client-authorized business visibility workflows, including account verification, Google Business Profile account/location checks, and future review-first local profile operations.

Current stage

The current implementation focuses on read-only verification of connected Google account and Business Profile access before any client channel is marked connected.

Google data handling

Data typeUseBoundary
Google account identityConfirms which user authorized the connection.Used only to connect the user-approved workflow.
OAuth tokensAllows the approved workflow to check Google access.Stored securely in Genie configuration/database paths; not displayed publicly.
Business Profile account/location metadataUsed to verify which business/location the client can connect.Read-only until a reviewed channel connection is selected and approved.

Oceanside PR does not sell Google user data. Google data is not used for unrelated advertising, resold data products, or training generalized AI models. Access is used only for the connected workflow the user authorizes. Oceanside PR's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Scope note: Google Business Profile workflows may request https://www.googleapis.com/auth/business.manage so Genie can verify account and location access. Posting, publishing, review replies, or profile changes are not performed from this initial access-check page.

Revocation

Users may revoke Google authorization from their Google Account settings or by requesting disconnection through Oceanside PR. Revocation stops Google-connected workflow checks until authorization is restored.
